Dublin is one of the great entertainment spots of Europe. Opera and orchestral concerts, Irish traditional music and dancing, rock and roll and everything from visiting African dance troupes to Japanese Taiko drums make their appearance in Ireland's capital city.

There's rarely an event that takes place in Dublin that isn't within a 10 to 15 minute walk of Kilronan House. And Dublin's streets are often more thronged at night, if that's physically possible, than during the day.

Several web sites do a particularly decent job of tracking entertainment and events in the city.

Dublin Tourism's guide to major events in the capital city is just that. Only the more important happenings get a mention. But, the guide is a good place to check to make sure you don't miss something seismic.

Time Out's well written and entertaining guide to Dublin covers a wider range of items. In their words, "Whether it's theatre, cinema, clubs, music or sport you're after, Dublin has enough entertainment on offer to keep your taste buds stimulated. Then again, you could just order another Guinness ..."

The two national papers published in Dublin also do a good job tracking what's happening. There's the Irish Times Newspaper and the Independent. Both have extensive entertainment sections including reviews of local goings on.
